How has Social Media impacted our society? The younger generation may have been the initial fans of this new venue of communication, but as Social Media has crossed over the generational lines, the impact is increasing.
In order for generations to communicate, the use of advanced media was a must. As we all know, technology is always changing. In order for businesses to keep current or attempt to stay ahead of the curve, eventually businesses must adapt to the latest trends of communication.
Social Media has found its way into marketing, the company communication lines, human resources (including recruiting, employee relations, etc.), a leadership tool, etc. However, with the convenience of this resource, there are also risks and a lack of privacy or confidentiality.
Our legal system has noted concerns about the quick development? Some of the Social Media venues have already proven to be a nuisance and cross the lines of personal privacy. Though technology can be a real asset, the challenge today is that there is no one watching out for a person's privacy. You Tube and other media venues have caused some major issues of concern.
What are businesses doing to avoid serious irresponsibility for those persons managing their Social Media departments? There are risks that need to be avoided. What is your company doing to be responsible in this fast-moving area? Do you have strong guidelines and steps in place to use technology in a professional way?
Social Media can be a real asset when used wisely and responsibly.
