SINCE EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT IS A MAJOR FACTOR FOR GROWTH, WHAT ARE YOU DOING ABOUT IT?

It is no secret that engaging the workforce is critical to a company's growth, and yet many companies are doing the "same ol' thing" in their workplaces.  You can have a great "strategy" for your products or services, and think you've hired qualified and experienced employees, and still have no improvements or growth.  Why?

It is important to remember that you are working with "people".  Employers are encouraged to pull together their Human Resources professionals and have them develop creative and stimulating ideas to motivate and improve the relationship with their employees.  Of course, an increase in salary is always appreciated, but that is a short-term fix.  Talk to your employees and LISTEN to them.  Most are looking to better themselves and grow/develop new skills.

What are other issues or concerns on their minds?  Do many have substantial debt that is causing them regular headaches?  If so, consider providing some "educational money management workshops".  OR if some are wanting to retire but don't feel they can afford to do so, Compass Career Management has an "educational retirement workshop" that informs people how to evaluate their finances, as well as teach what are some risks to avoid, and other basic information that can help them develop a plan for their future.  This workshop is especially valued when the source is impartial and not connected with the employer, providing factual and credible data, using basic terminology.

There may be other offerings or opportunities to enrich the employer-employee relationship.  Having a confidential survey and possibly sharing some ideas with the employees can help with developing an Employee Engagement program that will stimulate and plant the seed for better relations.  We all want to be appreciated, so training/coaching is a "no brainer" which all will value, but some supportive offerings to help them personally could strengthen the relationship even more.  Employees want to believe that you care about them.
